01Zarafshan

Coming soon
The word Zarafshan set in the Zarafshan typeface Tales of the golden river, set in Zarafshan

A Latin alphabet with a Persian accent.

Zarafshan is named after the river that runs past Samarkand. It borrows the rhythm of Persian calligraphy rather than its exact forms, with generous curves, fine contrast and an easy, handwritten flow.

A face for stories and the places they come from. Set it large, on book covers, posters, labels and menus.

In the making
The word BROTHERS set in the Fanlight typeface

Condensed capitals with a line of light.

A fanlight is the half-round window above an old shop door, often painted with the name of the shop. Fanlight comes from that sign-painting tradition: tall, narrow capitals with a fine inline.

Made for a single word read from across the street, on signs, shop fronts, labels and packaging.
